My Story
My name
is Daniel D'Neuville
and I am a peak performance researcher and
trainer. In my typical workshops, I teach people
how access powerful states of mind and walk
across a bed of
1200° coals.
The firewalk demonstrates that with a
focused mind and congruent action,
we can do extraordinary things. Four
years ago, during a lively discussion with a
close friend, I was explaining how the
principals learned in my firewalking workshop
could apply to every area of a person’s life. I
said sports are especially easy to demonstrate
this. To prove it, I told my buddy that I could
improve my bowling game by more than 50 pins
just by using my mind.
He laughed
because he knew just how terrible a bowler I
was.
In the past, when I did bowl, I would
barely break 100 and rarely had a bowling outing
more than a couple of times a year. If anything
was going to prove a point bowling was it. The
challenge was set.
The day he put me to the test, we agreed to
create a baseline performance against which to
compare any improvement. I bowled 3 games with
my
old
mindset, scoring a 112, 117 and a 124. I then
took a 20 minute “break”. Using the same
principals I teach people to walk over hot
coals, I put myself into a peak mind/body state
that most athletes would refer to as “the zone”.
I also installed “ the experience” of peak
bowling in my biocomputer, using hypnotic
learning principals.
The next three games I bowled a
197, 207, and 209, and
after only 20 minutes
of mental work. I have to admit, I was
very pleased with myself, while not championship
level, it was a 98% improvement! A sports nut,
my friend got excited and immediately told me
I had to teach this to other people.
I dismissed the idea initially, because back
then, I didn’t like to bowl that much. As I
continue I am beginning to build a passion for it,
and now find it
intriguing as a perfect laboratory for mental
training.
OK, I’ll Do It!
Since the challenge test, I’ve gone onto bowl a
245, 269
and a
289.
I don’t always do that well, but it’s
interesting to consider how well I’d do if I
actually bowled more than twice a year. Now
almost 5 years later and I have finally decided
to go ahead and offer a workshop, teaching
mental skills for bowling.
What better way to introduce people to
the peak performance concepts than through a
game? |
